Rebalancing Electoral Residency District Maps

Did you know - While registered voters in Morrisville cast votes for all candidates, 4 seats are governed by residential districts requiring candidates to reside within the district.  These geographical residency districts ensure representation on Town Council from more than one area of Town.  The exception is the Mayor and two "At-Large" seats that allow candidates to live anywhere in Town.

Rebalancing these districts should occur every 10 years just following the decennial census to ensure a general balance across the districts.  With such fast growth in Morrisville in some parts of Town, the districts are out-of-balance.  Town Council is considering 3 Map Options to regain some balance before the next required realignment.  These maps would remain in effect until the next required rebalancing after the 2020 census and would impact candidacy filing and elections for the November 2017 elections.
