District 41
With this draft proposal, Morrisville will have two representatives. District 40 includes North Raleigh, RDU, and Morrisville on the North side of Aviation and Morrisville Carpenter Road. District 41 starts in New Hill and extends northward to the Durham County line reaching eastward into Cary and Morrisville. Therefore all of Morrisville south of Morrisville Carpenter Road/Aviation Parkway is in District 41.
The proposed Congressional District map can be seen here:
Rucho-Lewis Congress 1
Districts 2 and 4, which are specific to our area, can be seen here:
District 2
District 4
Have input for any of the new District maps? Please submit your comments here. Please note that submissions will not be responded to via email, but discussed at the next Town Council Meeting, which will be held on July 26th at 6:30 pm. These comments will help Council consider if a position needs to be taken on behalf of the Town of Morrisville.
The public hearings for the House/Senate redistricting will take place on Monday July 18th from 3 - 9 PM. Wake County comments will be heard at the NC Museum of History. See http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/sessions/2011/publichearings/redistricting.html for additional details.
