Pugh House
Overview:
 Pugh House Being Moved.jpg
The James M. Pugh house was built around 1870, a wealthy merchant, and still stands as one of Morrisville's most visible landmarks.

The structure stood at the corner of Aviation Parkway and NC 54 until it was moved in 2007 to accomodate road improvements to NC 54.  Both the main house and outbuilding were moved about 200 yards across the railroad tracks and to its new location on the corner of Morrisville Carpenter Road and Page Street.

The Pugh House is currently owned by the Town of Morrisville.  Details of its permanent use and ownership have not been decided.

By saving the Pugh House, Morrisville is able to preserve an important chapter in the town's history, and use the structure to tell the interesting story of the town's development.

Schedule (dates are subject to change):
  • House moved January 2008
  • Currently awaiting restoration
