The Internationally Accredited Police Department provides 24-hour law enforcement services for businesses and residents within the town limits of Morrisville.
Our main responsibilities include maintaining order, protecting public and property, patrolling, responding to calls for service, and investigating criminal activity and traffic crashes.
Our agency is also responsible for crime prevention. Our officers patrol to deter crime, and are involved in community policing activities like neighborhood watch.

Chief Andrews, formerly a Commander in the Criminal Investigations Division with the Durham, NC Police Department, was selected from a field of over 70 applicants. She was identified as one of the top candidates during a comprehensive assessment center process held in March. Look for her around town as she gets to know our community.

In April 2016, the Morrisville Police Department was re-accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). We received our initial accreditation status in November 2009.
Accreditation is a process in which a law enforcement agency voluntarily complies to over 400 professional standards defined by the Commission. The standards focus on department policies, and operational procedures such as police training, use of force, emergency preparedness, and accountability. Compliance with these standards means a law enforcement agency both follows a code of conduct recognized by its law enforcement peers, the legal system and the public and also meets the best professional requirements and practices for agencies nationwide.
