Responsibilities
The Engineering Department performs numerous tasks to assist the public and the developers working within the Town of Morrisville.

These tasks include, but are not limited to (Department Responsibility Flow Chart):

• Evaluating residential and business concerns and complaints
• Providing development support, including review of site plans, construction plans, plats, and plot plans (construction phase development support also involves construction inspection services and acceptance of public improvements)

• Developing and administering design and construction standards and standard detail drawings
• Developing and implementing NPDES Phase II strategy for stormwater and erosion control for the Town, including:
  • Public education and outreach
  • Public involvement and participation
  • Illicit discharge detection and elimination
  • Construction site runoff controls
  • Post-construction site runoff controls
  • Pollution prevention
  • Good housekeeping for municipal operations
• Overseeing floodplain management
• Overseeing capital projects including:
  • In-house design
  • Project construction oversight
