Residents Invited to Volunteer for Boards and Committees

volunteer oppertunity.jpg

The Town of Morrisville currently has eight Boards and Committees, each offering citizens a chance to be involved in the Town's decision-making processes by providing input on important matters to Town Council. The application period, for service starting in the summer/fall of 2017, is now open and will end at midnight on Sunday, June 25, 2017.

There are openings on four of the eight Boards and Committees:

  • Performance Measures Advisory Committee (PMAC). This committee reviews performance metrics for Town departments and guides the measurement of work and products.
  • Environment and Recycling (MERC). This committee is dedicated to community education about recycling and solid waste. It provides Council with information needed to make decisions on waste and recycling.
  • Board of Adjustment (BOA). This quasi-judicial board acts separately from Town Council. It conducts public hearings and makes rulings on cases subject to the Unified Development Ordinance.
  • Public Safety (PSAC). This committee examines ideas and reports on methods and concepts to protect and improve citizens’ health, safety and welfare and the peace and dignity of Town.

The time commitment and attendance requirements vary by committee and are based on meeting schedule and/or a committee's quasi-judicial status. Please click here to view all attendance requirements.
